Mark Griffin
BSAC Qualified Instructor (No 5270) with over 29 years worldwide diving experience!
"I would like to introduce myself. my name is MARK GRIFFIN, and I am a qualified diving instructor with the BSAC (British Scuba-Aqua Club). I also have further Advance Certificates in diving.
I started my dive school in Spain in 2007, training people worldwide to be qualified divers to the BSAC standard. I provide reasonably priced packages for each course that I teach with all equipment included, all starting at Spring Lakes, Long Eaton.
I have dived all over the world - the Great Barrier Reef, Thailand, Egypt and not forgetting where it all started, the UK. I started at Spring Lakes in November 2022 becoming a Park Manager with the amazing opportunity to teach diving at Spring Lakes.
It's the greatest pleasure to see someone get the thrill that I always experience with diving. Many clients are apprehensive at the start but always tell me after that it is the best experience and they are so glad they have done the course. Many of my clients keep in touch on a regular basis and I love to find out how they are and where in the world they have been diving.
I always say to people: Don't hold back. Once you have had the experience of the underwater world, you will want to continue exploring!

Hi everyone, I'm Liam at Diverstime Spring Lakes.
I'm 17 and have a passion for all things underwater and have been a scuba diver since 2018!
I'm currently working towards my assistant instructor qualification with Mark. I am also a freediver and hope to run freediving courses here at springlakes soon.
I love underwater photography and am working towards getting some awesome photos in West Lake (where you guys will be diving) of the pike, carp and perch that live there. See you down there and safe diving !!!
John Sparham
Hello, my name is John and I'm one of the team members at Diverstime, Spring Lakes. I've recently left the British Army after 24 years service in the Royal Engineers. For 21 of these years I was a Military Diver, carrying out a variety of Underwater Engineering tasks such as underwater concreting, buoyancy lifts, vehicle recovery, bridge pier construction, ultra thermic cutting equipment and hydraulic tools. I have done all of these tasks up to the Military diver's maximum operating depth of 50m on surface supplied equipment. My dive sites have been all over the world; Afghanistan, Iraq, the Falkland Islands, Scotland, Cyprus, Gibraltar and obviously my favourite nil viz location... Portsmouth Harbour, not for the faint hearted!
Along with my military diving qualifications I am also a BSAC Open Water Instructor and I look forward to meeting you when you visit us down at Spring Lakes. 1 Pull, diver well!
